Summer Dyes Workshop at The Apothecary Garden

Summers blooms offer us a kaleidoscope of colour. Through the age-old craft at Natural Dyes we can work with wild roses, dyers chamomile, calendula, nettle and other barks, flowers and food plants to adorn our textiles and garments with the pigment and spirit of these gifts of the earth.

Natural Dyeing is a beautiful way to connect deeper to the world we live within. Encouraging us to be in conversation with the materials we have and hold every day, finding beauty and craftsmanship wherever we look.

In this workshop, guided by Jordan, artist and founder of SALT Textiles, you’ll be learning the basics of natural dyes plus the more intuitive and experimental method of bundle dyeing. You’ll spend time in the beautiful Apothecary Gardens, learning some of the common plants that can be used for bundle dyes before collecting them to dye your own silk scarf, to take home and adorn you through the seasons.

This workshop is for beginners or seasoned dyers looking to spend time with other artists, creatives and earth lovers.
